Women’s Only Event

Description:

The eros of darkness is a fertile seed for transformation. Women have known this for centuries. We are the cultivators of the ripe darkness, it’s where our magic births with infinite possibility. When we are in touch with the darkness of the night, we can shape whole worlds.

As the cities tame darkness through artificial light and the disappearance of the stars, our souls may settle for a status quo of belonging and being. Our innate creativity may disappear as the darkness, or stars do in the city nights.

The magic of starlight, the shadows in the darkness, and the liminal place of pink, orange and purple sky at sunset evoke the mystery inherent in us all. They help us remember the wild, original creativity within.

What songs are seeds in the darkness of you, waiting to be tended to in the night? What poetic words want to birth through you between sunlight and starlight?

Come join Melissa Rose and I for an evening beneath a canopy of butterfly skies, and the jagged mountains of Golden Gate Canyon, as we sing in the darkness together. Here you will feel the aspen, hawk, owl, pine, bear, fox and moose crossing into the night with us.

There will be time to wander the land here on your own to ignite a spark in your soul. We will then gather in a council to share what fertile musical or poetic seeds are arising in the moment.

Bring a journal & pen, a beloved poem or song (yours or someone else's), warm clothes to layer with, a camp chair, sheepskin, or a wool blanket, and water.

We will offer some woods rose tea harvested from these very mountains.

This land is 50 minutes from Boulder. Once you’ve signed up, you will be given the address. As our group forms, it may be helpful to consider carpooling. There is also room on this land to camp overnight if you desire and to leave in the morning before 9:00 am. There are special hikes in this area: Racoon Trail, Heart Lake, and many others if you wish to spend your next day traversing deeper into the mountains.
